EYELID SURGERY - BLEPHAROPLASTY
Aesthetic cosmetic eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, removes the excess fat and the wrinkled drooping skin of the upper eyelids that can make you look constantly tired or sad. It also eliminates excess fat under the eyes which can cause bulging and dark circles. The result is a brighter, more alert and rested appearance.
Good candidates for aesthetic eyelid surgery include anyone with a combination of the following conditions:
- Excess skin obscuring the natural fold of the upper eyelids.
- Loose skin hanging down from the upper eyelids.
- A puffy appearance to the upper eyelids that make the eyelids look tired.
- Excess skin and fine creepy lines of the lower lids.
- Bags and dark circles under the eyes.
- Droopiness of the lower lids showing white below the iris (colored portion of the eye).
Eyelid surgery is popular among men as well as women.
How is aesthetic eyelid surgery performed? For the last ten years Dr. Anderson has been using the laser for removal of excess upper lid skin and lower lid fat. The lower lid is done using a laser to create a small incision on the inside of the lid - eliminating any visible incision in that area. The laser also allows for less swelling and less bleeding throughout the surgery.
As an outpatient procedure, Dr. Anderson performs blepharoplasty in our accredited surgery suite providing patients with expertise, comfort and convenience.
